Praise, honour, and eternal glory to the highest God the Father Almighty, who by His most benign mercy deigned to impart to mortals the most sacred laws and commandments written in the present volume, spoken by His mouth and written by His finger. And to the Son, who in this same law promised and was proclaimed by the mouths of the holy prophets, the mediator between God and men, true God and true man, who redeemed the human race from the power of the devil. And to the Holy Spirit, who is the true author and inspirer of this sacred volume. And to the Immaculate Virgin Mary, mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, in whom all the laws and prophecies of this sacred volume are fulfilled. We recount the praises of the entire heavenly host. By the help and assistance of all these, we commend this Bible, or rather (so to speak) the Book of Life, to a happy conclusion. In its margins, the concordances of each place are diligently noted. The usual interpretations of Hebrew names are appended. Together with an alphabetical table collecting the individual histories of the entire Bible most exquisitely. Additionally corrected and most diligently emended by the most learned Bachelor in Sacred Letters, Petrus Angelus de Monte Ulmi, of the order of the minor Seraphic Franciscan friars. Printed indeed in the happy city of the Venetians, by the skill and at the expense of Hieronymus de Paganinis of Brescia.
